Outpatient Services – SODAT
SODAT currently operates the following programs:
The Adult Drug Court Diversion Program
The Adult Diversion program operates within Superior Court of New Castle County, Delaware and is funded by the Division of Substance Abuse and Mental Health, under the supervision of Delaware’s Treatment Access Center. The program provides adult first-time drug offenders the opportunity to participate in psycho-education, substance abuse counseling, therapeutic case management, and supervision services, as an alternative to traditional criminal sanctions. Program goals include prevention, reduced relapse and recidivism, increased employment, improved family relationships and health.
Adolescent Early-Intervention Services
The target population for early-intervention services includes adolescents in Delaware who are at high risk for substance abuse but not yet in need of treatment. Participants are identified as in need for increased skills to change current substance use patterns and a willingness to understand how current substance use may affect personal goals.
SODAT has partnered with Tower Hill School in Wilmington, Delaware to provide a four-day education program to the seventh grade since 2005. SODAT staff work in conjunction with Tower Hill staff to coordinate our program with the instruction provided by the school.
